Belt Tensioner - WEICHAI 612600061290 is a drive element: it takes rotation from the crankshaft to the fan, the charging alternator or the compressor.
The belt decides whether the engine stops for a reason that is not the engine. When it breaks, the fan stops and temperature climbs within minutes; if it drives the alternator, the battery drains and the set will not restart.

How to verify before ordering
- Match the reference and the profile (for example 8PK, A, B) with the belt removed; nominal length is not enough if the profile differs.
- Inspect the pulleys before fitting: a burred or misaligned pulley eats a new belt in hours.
- On multi-belt drives, change them all together and keep the old one as an emergency spare.
- Declared make or line: WEICHAI. If your equipment carries another make, the part may not be equivalent.
- Declared origin: China. Check this if your purchase requires a specific origin.
Frequently asked questions
Can a belt of another size be used?
Only if profile and length match the specification. A shorter belt overloads the bearings; a longer one slips and stops driving the fan.
How often is tension checked?
At commissioning, at 50 hours and then at every service. On standby sets at least once a year, even without hours.
